Day 86 – Frisco Sour

Hello Yearlings!

Apparently Friday has just become “Cocktail Day”. I think it’s just the day that I’m most inspired to learn to make a new cocktail. It’s also the day that we usually have friends over, who want to try new cocktails. It all evens out in the end.

Today’s cocktail is brought to you by the fact that I didn’t have the gin to make the drink I really wanted to try my hand at.

Making this cocktail couldn’t be easier, all you have to do is add the ingredients (except orange) in their proper amounts into your shaker and shake over ice.

Once you pour it in the glass squeeze half of your lemon juice in it and freeze the other half of the lemon to use as an ice cube. Serve in a high ball glass.

Ingredients:

3/8 oz Benedictine

1 1/2 oz Bourbon

3/4 oz lemon juice

small orange

1 barspoon powdered sugar

This came out very interestingly. It was Alex’s idea, because I hate both Bourbon and herbal liqueurs and never would have tried to make it myself. To be honest, I didn’t totally hate it. I love citrus heavy cocktails and this just hit it right on the nose between being something I could really enjoy and something I can’t bring myself to drink. Alex on the other hand is totally infatuated with it, so if you like Bourbon and Benedictine then you should definitely give this drink a shot.

Lots of Love,

Maya
